Digg has recently implemented a new comment system. One of the developers, Joe Stump, has posted an article on his blog about the technical background of the site update.
A big part of the new comment system was to extend the use of Ajax with the new system creating about 90% of the HTML dynamically. Script.aculo.us was replaced with the smaller jQuery library. Joes says that the entire comment system is, in fact, a series of jQuery plugins.
This is a huge boost for the popularity of jQuery. I’m glad I’m not the only one that sees its brilliance.

As a good friend of mine says, “Thou shall not have another JS library before jQuery.”
