Lost season 3 ends on a high

I managed to watch the double season finale of Lost  last night. The last few episodes have really been exceptional rejuvenating my interest in the show. It’s pretty much right up there with the likes of Heroes and House.

Spoiler Alert!

During the finale, the flash-back was actually a flash-forward to Jack being back in the States. Jack, sporting a beard, was really down in the dumps and was on the verge on committing suicide before being forced to save a stranger and her child who were involved in a car accident.

The reason for his despair was a news paper clipping that we never really get a good look at. The clipping lead Jack to a funeral for a mystery character. No one bothered to show up to the funeral which indicates that they were not missed. Fanatical fans of the show have analyzed each frame and have managed to get the just of the text. It seems to be pretty accurate. This is the text from the clipping:

“The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 a.m. in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue.

Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim’s loft. Concerned for the tenants’ safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room.

According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Lantham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son.

Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening.”

Another interesting point that I noticed is that Jack refers to his father as if he was alive. How is this possible, wasn’t Jack in Australia to collect his Father’s body?

Season 4 will be shown in the States early 2008. That’s a long time to wait! Season 4 promises to be awesome!
